Comment: Hi, I'm new to Linux. Have several queries. Hope I can get some help here. 1. Where is a good website/place to read up about Linux? 2. Can Linux be downloaded free? Understand some places sell it for a price. Is there any difference? 3. How do I perform a dual boot with XP? Do I load XP first or Linux first? 4. Where can I get drivers for Linux? 5. How much space should I allocate for each OS. 6. Can XP and Linux read data of the same drive? ok...seems I've a lot of questions. But hope to kick start with Linux, since I've heard so much about it. My Configuration. 1. Epox KHA+ 266A MB 2. AMD TB 1.2G 3. Leadtek 6X sound card 4. Axle GeForce2 MX-400 5. Samsund CDRW 6. Aopen CDROM 7. Seagate 40G 8. 512 DDR 9. Finally...Dazzle Video Creator II thanks, Andrew

Reply: (edit)Go out and buy a redhat linux book. The book will have the latetest operating system on cdrom. Cdrom is the best way to install linux. Most of the drivers will be suported so don't worry about that. I don't recomend dual booting. but if you really have to first install that xp thing and and partition your drive with a software called partition magic. Partition magic is really easy to use. I like linux. Don't listen to anyone until you tried it for yourself. I personally like redhat. But there is other distributions out there. I admit linux is not for everyone. But give it a shot. Try these books: Red hat linux 7 bible comes w/cd the complete reference red hat linux 7 w/ cd try these websites: www.redhat.com www.linux.org www.suse.com I hope this helps.
