New to linux man is it really this

I want to just run a program i downloaded
from the net,its called httrack-3 (42-2.tar.gz)
it is a off line web program.

OK ! i think i got the zip part down i run
ARK it cam with the os,i unzip it to the file
/home/john/Desktop/httrack-3.42.2

inside the dir is this :

this is wher i get lost, i know i must do something next like with makefile or install
but clicking on them dont help. what do i do next and where should i be when i do it like if i use a terminal what should it be reading
befor i type... please help me understand
it ant this hard.

Did you try reading the README and INSTALL files? They should give you the proper installation instructions.

The normal process after unzipping the files is to cd into the directory it created and then run the following commands.

make
make test
make install

However, the installation process sometimes differ for some programs, which is why you should read the installation instructions.

Pretty sure you can use RPM to install on pclinuxos.

"Best Practices", Event viewer, host file, perfmon, are in my top 10

i have pclinux install alrady,i understand the make part of it but what program do i type (make test.ect) in ? the konsol or some kind of notepad ? the name of it.

You type in the commands at the command prompt in your console/terminal window, which is similar to the Windows cmd window, but more powerful.

Pclinuxos is an rpm based. Get the rpm.
