net sharing? you mean network or internet?

if network, you need to setup samba server on linux. if internet, use proxy server. if anything else, i dont know.

Thanks for the response. I should have been more specific.
Yes, I meant Internet / printer sharing, which I suppose involve both. I put in all the numbers for DNS, host, gateway, etc. but nothing happens. Since there is no help--online or off--from Mandrake, this Net is the only place for finding a way out.
Is there any site giving an actual example or sample of a complete setup?
thanks again.

Mandrake has lots of online docs and tutorials to help you get started.

Here is one of their complete howto's on installing SAMBA which will help you with file and printer sharing: http://www.mandrakeuser.org/docs/connect/csamba.html

Here is another howto to share your internet connection by using ip masquerading: http://www.mandrakeuser.org/docs/connect/cipc.html

I have shared a dialup (on a win
machine(winme, and 2000) with a linux box by
enabling ICS in windows, and then giving the
ip of the win boxes network adapter as the
gateway ip on the linux box. Works well for
internet connection sharing. Never tried file
sharing, and my printer is a sort of
winprinter type thing, so that was
unsucessful as well.
