Comment: Need Help,I´m getting crazy!!!I´m trying to configure a mail server.First of all,I have to say that I have no DNS(its only for testing). I´m trying to create four virtual domains, each domain will listen in a different ip.I have configured the /etc/hosts and have given each domain a different ip. I have used the mailconf utility,I am able to send mails with te SMTP protocol, but I can´t recieve any mails. The tests made where with mail accounts created in the same domain. I get this message: Sep 30 13:36:05 mailbox ipop3d[14309]: pop3 service init from 10.0.5.26 Sep 30 13:36:28 mailbox ipop3d[14309]: Command stream end of file while reading line user=gustavo@test.com.br host=[10.0.5.26] I can see that pop3 service is running but I can´t understand why my password is refused.Do I have to connect someway the sendmail service with pop3 service?? Thanks in advance.. BR

Reply: (edit)when connecting to pop3 sever, you only give your username "gustavo", not the entire email address. Sendmail will work if domains zone are correctly active on their dns server only. try: nslookup -type=mx mydomain.com If it return invalid zone, or wrong ip address, verify the dns zone.

Reply: (edit)Thanks Danny, but I am not using dns. I´ve connected to the sendmail machine via telnet to port 110. I´ve put this: user gustavo then pass mypassword and it gives me a password error. I´m thinking that maybe I´m not doing something, do I have to connect someway the pop3 deamon with sendmail?? I´m using pop3 included in imap package. Thanks...
