I am trying to install my first program on Linux. It is AIM (rpm -i aim-1.5.234-1.i386.rpm). Where do I type in the commands?
I'm trying to run it in RUN PROGRAM with no luck. I've tried to run it using: "5. To run AIM, log in as a regular user, and type "/usr/local/bin/aim" on the command line."

Bring up the run prompt and type xterm. This should bring up a console window like command or cmd in windoze. Type your commands in there. As pete says...try just running gaim as you might already have it installed.
