It so happens that I also have a Siemens PCI
10/100 Ethernet Card (SpeedStream--Residential
Series, Model SS1020) in my PC. You don't need
any driver for Linux since it will find it the
first time you boot up, after installing it...
Have you tried installing the card at all?

no lawrence, i havent tried to install it, i don have a driver, i am using Verizon DSL (PPOE)..... my PC is connected via router, so what i assume is that my router is acting as a dhcp, when i issue the command netconfig and put a check over the option of get the ip address from dhcp, nothin happens, infact after comming out of that interface and even after restarting, when i issue the same command again and go back there is no check over the option, seems like the change wasnt saved.... i would sincerely appreciate your help
thanks

I am using DirecTV DSL. Two computers connect
to a NetGear router and the rounter connects to
the gateway... I also run dhcpd although I can
run static IP if I want! I didn't have any
problem with it under RedHat Linux 7.2,
Mandrake 9.0, Lycoris, and even Knoppix!!!
Could it be because of the Verizon DSL?

By the way, did you configure that as root?

I am using the Siemens Speedstream PCI 10/100 for my computer at home that is running well with windows 98SE for my cable modem. I am planning to upgrade to windows XP, does anyone knows if I will need any new drivers for the card and if yes, where I can downloaded from? Thanks.
