MySQL, PHP & Apache on Red Hat 7.3

Comment:
I installed Red Hat 7.3 on my puter by selecting server installation, and choosing Web & Database. It gave me PostgresSQL and PHP for PostgresSQL.
I don't know anything about PostgresSQL.
How do I install MySQL, Apache and PHP for MySQL? Do I need to run the server setup from begining again?

If I were you I'd choose custom installation, then dl and install Apache, MySQL, and PHP myself. That's what I did. Its extremely easy.

If you choose to run the server setup again, you can simply choose to install "everything" after picking a custom install, or picking to install individual packages; that's one way. Or, you can mount the 3rd CD, examine with Konquerer (or Package Manager) to find the Redhat/RPMS directory, then install MySQL from there. I'm doing a MySQL install now, but I chose to install the very latest from www.mysql.com. The Apache install is fairly easy from www.apache.org. I downloaded and install 2.0.40 last night and that went fairly well. Have not had success getting the start and stop function from /etc/rc.d/init.d/httpd to work, but I'm gaining on it (still have to start it up manually (./apachectl start) from /usr/local/apache2/bin . Good luck and HTH!
