Hey guys its me nick pips i am currently on my other computer to acess the internet. I believe my problem is when i start up mandrake it does a list of ok's including starting up internet connection from boot but it fails one that says starting up interface eth0 i am not sure wat this does but i believe it is my problem any answer to fix this or am i mistaken is there another problem. What is strange is i am on a hub splitting to three computers my computer is

recieving info not giving and my other computers work. Plz help (Sorry about the message split)

"...my computer is recieving info not giving..." Not quite sure what you mean by this, are you going by lights on the NIC/hub? They are there just if the physical layer of the network is working, not whether the card is configured correctly. If it is you should be able to ping the other machines by IP. If you type "/sbin/ifconfig", what do you get? If your card is not configured correctly, probably the easiest way to configure it would be by either using the mandrake control centre (mcc) or drakconnect. These are really just frontends for the command line tools ifconfig (for assigning an IP etc), route (for adding a gateway) and editing /etc/resolv.conf (which lists your DNS servers).
