Hi,
We're working with linux enterprise and matrox quad video card. We want it to be diplayed in 16bit mode but can only get 8 bit working at 1280x1024. I've tried a google search but got tired of finding nothing that helps and thought I'd give a shout here. It funny that and older version of this quad card works, but not the newer. We tried various setting in XF86Config but no luck. Any ideas here/or new direction of searching. We contact Matrox and they never seen this problem before, plus they recommend this card(G2-QUADP-PL-9)but don't support it in their systems??? Thanks for your time. regards

Would it help to set the cards memory size in your xf86config file? eg in the device section: VideoRam 4096 (although I'm sure it has more than 4 megs!=o)
