I'm looking to move my company away from Microsoft systems and onto Linux. They are fine with that, apart from the fact that they won't live without MS Exchange. I know Ximian provides the Connector that allows Evolution to connect to Exchange, but isn't there a Linux alternative to Exchange its self? Ideally, I would like all systems to be Linux based, with no MS left.
Any ideas, or is that simply a gap in Linux software?
Sendmail is an alternative for MS-Exchange, it gives more controls than Exchange. It is under GNU/GPL. But it's setup is quite difficult for new admins/Users. Try to install and configure if any problem arise consult user manual or senmail book.
There is an alternative to exchange check out bynari.nl or email me if you have any question. Te alternative is called insight server and works with outlook and soon with evolution.
