Hi, I am trying how to figure out why when it put in a copy of flintstones cartoon dvd it has spanish playback.

Mplayer is the weapon if choice, kde.

I also have a question about totem, xine, and kaffeine. Mplayer is the only one that does not strech the picture horizontally so that the pic is only a inch-or two tall.

Mplayer does it fine but the rest strech it.

Reply:

1) Pass the "alang" switch when starting, eg:
$ mplayer -alang en dvd://1

2) Try a different video driver, both xv and sdl should do. You can get a list with "mplayer -vo help".
$ mplayer -vo xv -alang en dvd://1

To save typing these in all the time, add them to your mplayer.conf file.
