get a bad name Just because I am stupid.
So I thought I would post the conclusion
to the story...

After almost a month of reading FAQ
reading through linux manuals,posting
questons endless trial and error
making tons of mkdir /loosing/my/mind/
today Just befour I was going to fdisk
mandrake thinking the o/s dident load right
I mounted the g.. d.. fat32 ....

seems I was typing..

mount -t vfat/dev/hdb1 /mnt/fat32/
mount -t vfat /dev/hdb1 /mnt/fat32/
was what worked..

thanks again everybody four your help.

Amazing what a space can do, eh.

Could be worse.

rm -fR *.html

is much different from

rm -fR * .html

which is a very bad thing to do......

lesson to learn is to read the man pages. Instead of trying to mimic commands see if they make sense. If you looked at the -t option you might notice that vfat/dev/hdb1 is not a file system. But it happens to all of us.
