I have a Motorola SM56 PCI Modem and have downloaded the rpm drivers. But when trying to use minicom it will not initialize the modem.
Can I get some help, please.
I have Redhat 7.3 I686 and kernel ver. 2.4.18-3
I am a novice to Linux but a surelly dedicated one.

Hi guys, I am also facing the same problem. It was woorking fine with linux 7.1. 7.3 has kernel version 2.4.18-3 and modem driver was tested only on 7.1 and kerner version 2.4. I suppose it will not work on kerner 2.4.18-3. the depmod utility is showing some error about unresolved symbols in sm56 driver. I am trying to solve the problem. I will let you know when i solve it.
