i have recently installed mandrake on my laptop, and i cant get the modem to work. i have heard that software modems don't work and lnux and i have a software modem! does anyone know how to get past this problem!! MANY THANKS

some people use a driver called lt_modem with great success. unfortunately, I'm not one of them. Dependeing on your laptop, there might be a specific driver for you.
