We have just upgraded to Slackware 8.0, but our modem has decided to revert to it's earlier days of extremely slow transfers (500bytes/sec) even though it's connect speed is 506667. Usually, turing off flow control and data compression fixes it slow transfer speed (up to 6kbps), but this time it does nothing. Is there anything anyone knows? Even if it sounds somewhat remote a response would be appreciated.
