Hi I have a problem with my modem in Red Hat 9.0:

The problem is that it doesnt even turn on when booting RH9 but it works ok under W98. The modem is a Modem Blaster USB from creative. I think RH has detected, but the driver is not well configured, but theres something strange with the USB devices. Look what appear in the hardware browser:

I had 4 ports USB (2 in the mother board and the other 2 in other card (video card i think)) i think those 2 in the card are not being detected or configured.. but the modem is conected to a port of the mother board (AMD Athlon K7). I have tried several things, i have downloaded from the conexant site a driver: hcfusbmodem-1.00lnxt03091600ppcfree.tar but i have installed and it do nothing or may be i have installed it wrong or maybe it has nothing to do with the driver... I also have tried some "strange" programs to detect usb but the only thing i have notice is some beeps when booting...

I dont know what to do! i installed RH9 a month ago and its my first experience with Linux. I really want to use Linux, but i need to use the internet so help me in order to scape from windoze!!

Thank u all in advance.

Have you checked on www.linmodems.org?

Perhaps the little program "usbview" may
help you track down the fault.

Hi, i have tried usbview and the two hubs and the modem blaster USB appears and the information about the modem seems to be correct... maybe the problem is of the driver... because the modem is still off... i does not turn on.... more ideas thanks.
