modem not detected

Hi,
I have a modem (connexant HSF) and I've alredy downloaded/installed the drivers for it. But still it doesn't work: I can't even find it . Doesn't appear in the hardware components... What can I do?

Maybe you tried this already... Run linuxconf. Click on "Peripherals" and then select the COM port where your modem lives. Click "Detect." Hope this works!

Hi, I have the same modem on my linux machine and he is working fine. Did you type hcfpciconfig at your shell.He must be installed as /dev/ttyHCF0 or as /dev/modem. post another message but this time with full description of your problem.(Installation procedure, have you receive any bad massage etc.).
