RE: Modem config

A good chance you have an Internal Modem?

Well truly, Internal Modems aren't really modems. They are basically fake modems made for microsoft windows.

You can still use most Internal Modems in linux now, visit the site below and do some reading, need any help post it as a reply in this same post and I will get it.

RE: Copying to floppy

To copy to floppy type at the command line 'mount /dev/fd0' (should work but possibly you will need to change the '/dev/fd0' part).

Copy the files to '/mnt/floppy' and they will be copied to the disk, well sorta. You *MUST* unmount the disk before removing it, unless the information won't be on the disk.

So, type 'umount /dev/fd0' to unmount.

There are programs that will imitate a 'My Computer'.

But I do not recommend them. You'll be much better off as a Linux user if you learn to use the console (terminal).
