Hi there,
I see to run into a problem with Mandrake 8.2. I can ping the machine, I can browse the internet from it but I cannot telnet to it. I lowered the security to the min., checked the chkconfig (not there) and reinstalled in whole again, just in case. Still doesn't work. What am I missing?

your help is greatly appreciated....

Marco

Make sure telnet is active in xinetd.conf

Also, adding hostname&IP in /etc/host may help.
