I had no problem at all installing Mandrake 9.0, on one of my computers running ME, but, I wanted to install it on my other machine running XP Professional. I learned that it was advised to use Partition Magic 8.0 to resize your windows XP or 2000 parition prior to trying to install Mandrake 9.0. The parition manager in Mandrake 9.0 is supposedly not set up to handle resizing NTFS volumes. I would try useing Partition Manager first. Unless of course you are not interested in a dual boot machine and want your whole PC to be linux centric, only.

bp,

Sometime you get an rpm errors on some selection you have made. I got the same problem.
Try to install minimal first, OS, KDE etc. and nothing fancy.
After you done. you Can go into and install each individual package. it's really easy and a very nice interface.

Also I notice doing this way is much fater than select everything up front. It may take longer and unstable.

As you install individual package you know what you want and what is on the system.

If one package failed that you can tell which rpm package are in error on the CD.

hope this help you.
