Hey, and thanks for taking my question.
I was previously a mandrake 8.2 user and had no problems installing mandrake on a box and have it running several services. The box acted as a file share for my internal network which consists of mainly windows xp users. I had a website up.. ftp up and was learning the basic functionality of webmin.
After I installed 9.0.. i was unable to have any of these services.. i thumbed my way through is and first of all... my control center doesnt even have a servers icon.. then i am unable to access my webmin utility through my local browser(konquerer).. it kep telling me that I dont have cookies enabled when i fact i did..i am unable to view the servers icon and my biggest concern or thought on it is that i messed up sometime during the installation... was i not suppost to choose network computer (client) and network computer (server) together? will that eliminate the server functionality on the box.. i am unable to really do anything to the box .. it acts as if there are no services running ... well... i can ftp into the box but only under one user.. .and i cant even find out how to add users to the ftp environment... i am dying... please let me know how i can install the system and have all the services running that i want.. samba, apache, ftp, and how i can get back into webmin... i just need to know how to install it and what i should choose during the install.. is there much difference with 8.2 and 9.0.. I just want to put my website up and have all the functionality that i did before.. i dont care about much of anything else.. just want my cool server back that i could mess with while it was at home and i am at work..
Thank you so much for you answers and thoughts...i am trying so hard to get away from microsuck that it is killing me!!!

It's a bit drastic but have you tried backing up your data, wiping the computer and installing a fresh copy of mandrake instead of trying an upgrade?
Selecting both client and server wont have any effect. Are you able to start the mandrake control centre (mcc)? Are you able to start any services by hand, eg:
# /etc/init.d/inetd start
