I upgraded to Mandrake 9 recently. I have an ADSL connection with external modem (connected to ethernet card). In previous versions, I just installed rp-pppoe, entered the required information and I'm online. However, after I upgraded, things started getting screwed up real bad. I have asked for help many times and tried everything (command line, rp-pppoe-gui, control center) but still... The thing is, I would play with the config in Control center and I would get it to work but next time I log in it wont work! I try playing again with the parameters and after a few minutes or hours it would work again. Sometimes "connect to internet through lan" will work, sometimes its "connect through ppp0 interface". Also, why is it that in control center, when you do the same thing twice, the result is not the same? or if you choose for example eth0 not to start on boot, it will start it anyway? I cant continue like that everytime I want to connect. What works now wont work next time. I havent been able to identify what really is the problem. Its still trial and error. I know many people have this problem. Please help if someone found the solution. Thanks

We installed ML 9.0 on a fresh PC. Everything went well, until the Internet connection. We also have a external ADSL modem connected to ethernet card. The thing that is most freaky, is the control Center. It looks like its always a step to late. If you configure eth0 and your last configuration was eth1, it wil use eth1. If you known what i mean... We connected to the Internet twice b.t.w. Anyone else having this problem, and solved it? If you've got any ideas, please. GreetZ Gossen and Frank
