I have been trying to get Peng to work on mandrake for a few weeks now. I tried lots of approches, reinstalling gcc, reinstalling mandrake, etc. but none work. My modem works fine (Conextant HCF) with a precompiled 3rd party driver, but i cannot get anything to compile with gcc. Here is a make.log _____________________________________________ configure: error: installation or configuration problem: C++ compiler cannot create executables. make: *** [config.status] Error 1 sion loading cache ./config.cache checking host system type... i386-pc-none checking target system type... i386-pc-none checking build system type... i386-pc-none checking for a BSD compatible install... I'm experiencing the same error message when trying to compile Apache 2.0 ?? I see gcc in the /usr/sbin directory, but it still won't compile? I'm not a Linux Wizard, so i'm not sure what to look for in the config.log.
Any suggestions greatly appreciated. thanks in advance Ralph
