Mandrake 7.2 slow Boot! please help

I am running 7.2 mandrake and the booting is very slow. it seems to be checking file system and its not those that is result from an improper shutdown. please advise all help is appreciated.anyone knows how can i disable that function as it take minutes on on to do so.

If it runs the check on a certain filesystem *every* time it boots, you probably want to run fsck manually (see the man pages for usage) on the offending partition. If it's just the fact that it forces a check of all filesystems more often than you like, I know the maximun time between checks can be increased, although I can't remember what file you need to edit at the moment.
