When trying to logout of Mandrake 7.2 I hear the little logout sound and then the OS doesn't logout. From there I am forced to shut down the computer. I also have a problem with some of the programs not wanting to close so that I have to manually kill them with the skull and cross bones. Might this indicate a problem with my memory chip being bad? I'm also having windows 98SE freezes on the same machine.

I got the same logout problem.
I found the best way to shutdown
is go to a console as root
and type halt.

Some programs are not supposed to
be shut down with the x like the
dialup connection you have to disconnect
first befour you can kill it with an x
There are others that way cant think of now.

win98 freezs and linux doesent...

Sounds bout right to me..
