Boot the first CD

continue with the install until you get to the partitionning

resize your windows XP partition so that you have enought unpartitionned disk space to create:
a linux swap partition of two time your ram (if you have 128megs get a 256 meg swap)

a linux ext2 or reisfer or ext3 that's at least 3 GIGs (the more stuff you install and the less chances that an application will have a needed file missing. I personnally made a 4 gig partition and have about .8 gig free.

Continue with the install.

if you resize an NTFS partition with the mandrake Resizer, your gonna lose all your data, so watch out.

You need Partition Magic to resize NTFS Partitions.
