PLEASE HELP!!!
I got a deal, or so I thought, at a big computer store. My PC was preloaded with Linux and had allegedly simple directions for loading Windows. Followed the directions and now everything is messed up.
Cannot load Windows, cannot reinstall Linux, and basically can't do anything.
When I boot up the PC I keep getting messages about bad kernals, hda 5 failure, etc, etc.
Short of installing a blank hard drive, how do I change this box from an expensive paperweight to a functional computer???
Thanks, and please no techno talk; I need a computers for dummies explanation.
Many thanks!
Chris

If you want Windows, then just put your
Windows CD in to u'r drive and restart the
computer. Then, it will be self explanatory
for u. If u want to have linux, then put
linux CD and wait until it asks u to input
something. At the boot: prompt, just hit
enter and proceed. Windows is simple and
will be self-explanatory. If the error
messages persis, try to change the boot
sequence in u'r bios settings. u can enter
bios settings usually by hitting F2 key/DEL
key or any of the Functional keys during
the system startup. Change the boot
sequence to boot from CD-ROM drive. then u
shud be all set. Good luck.
