I am a total newbie at using Linux, so be gentle!
I want to setup a mail server in Linux for a bulk mail sending application (above 300k per day) running in windows (IIS). For that which SMTP Server is faster and reliable?
Nice SIMPLE answers please, as I don't know enough about Linux Thanks in advance.

Hi There,
You seem to be afraid of Linux !!!! Anyway, Qmail is one of the best programs in terms of performance but it is a bit tricky to install. If you can install any configure it then I think that it is the best option.
Other things that you can try are postfix and sendmail. Use webmin to configure these servers if you are not comfortable with them
hope that helps

My guess is no because you don't need a mail server to send mail, just to receive and distribute it among people on your domain.

"...My guess is no because you don't need a mail server to send mail..." Providing that his ISP doesn't mind him sending 300k emails per day with their mailservers!
