Mail recovery under Linux

CPU/Ram: Duron 1.8, 512MB

Hi, i am newbie here.
My harddisc is not working quite well and WindowsXP doesn't start properly. Fortunately, Linux Fedora Core starts fine. I want to find all my letters from the inbox from Outlook Express and then copy them onto another storage device. Is there any way to do this under Linux?

I think outlook express stores email in .mbx or .dbx files. Unfortunately they are in a proprietary binary format and not plain text so extracting the data might prove tricky without a working outlook express install. Here are a few links to help read these files:
