Hi Randy:

Get a Linux boot disk for your particular distro -- may be available at http://www.bootdisk.com

Boot from the floppy and type linux single at the prompt. That should get you to root.

Now I have a question: was the previous server admin fired or did he die suddenly?

I have all necessary docs and passwords in a hidden safe in my server room, and our CEO has the combo--so that if something ever did happen to me they won't be stuck.

Thanks for response.
It was a company that looked after their firewall and they went bankrupt. ( would not give passwords so as they were the only ones to service this client)
