|Go to a terminal (CTRL and any F<number> keys if X is messed up) and go to the folder you downloaded the files.|
Type in "sudo dpkg -r *.deb" (without quotes). This should remove the corrupting packages.
I would also advise running "sudo aptitude install -f" afterwards and making sure that there are no broken dependencies.
Once done, restart your computer and it should have restored the default drivers/view.
