Comment:
I need to find this file in order to get my wireless card to work...but alas it is not on the computer. I have done "locate vmlinuz.version.h" but nothing comes up

Try this from a command prompt:
# find /boot -name "vmlinuz*"
The problem you are having is that you aren't replacing "version" with the version (I'm using the find command instead of locate). "Version" should be something like "2.4.18-14" (taken from Redhat 8; don't know what Mandrake 9.1 is). Good luck.

It sounds like you might need the kernel source and headers in order to compile a module or similar. On the Mandrake CDs, look for kernel-source-2.4.21-0.13mdk.i586.rpm and kernel-headers-2.4.21-0.13mdk.i586.rpm
Install these and then give it another go.

You could try the following: ftp://ftp.rediris.es/sites/pld-linux.org/dists/1.0/test/i586/kernel-headers-2.4.21-2.i586.rpm
It's not exactly the same version but should work.
