I'm using redhat 7.3 and I want to change the background of my KDE login screen (kdm). The kde configuration tool allows me to do this, but as soon as I log off and the background I selected pops up, it is replaced with the default RedHat background.
Where is the file that controls this?

I found it.
/etc/X11/xdm/Xsetup_0I commented out the lines
#/usr/X11R6/bin/xsetroot -solid "#5477A0"
and
# if [ -x /usr/bin/xsri -a -f /etc/X11/xsrirc ]; then
# /usr/bin/xsri --redhat-login --setNow I can control my background with the KDE configuration tool.
