Hi, i changed the login shell from bash to tcsh.
The .login file was not there so i created and edited it in order to set some environment variable. Here is all i got in .login:

setenv CVS_SHR ssh

But after logging out and in, i still couldn't find that variable. Why is that ? tcsh shell reads .login file when user's logging in right ?

Yeah, it works in .cshrc, but im wondering
why it doesn't work in .login. Doesn't the
shell read .login when it loggin in as
well ?

You can find out by looking in the /etc/profile file.
There you can see which logonfile is used in your homedir.
