Hi there,

I've installed lm_sensors (lm_sensors-2.10.6-55.el4) on my server and executed the sensors-detect binary to configure. The problem is: the software finds the sensors trought the wizard and when i'm going to start the lm_sensors service (to load the kernel modules) it fails. Anyone knows why ?

service lm_sensors start
Starting lm_sensors: loading module i2c-isa ipmi-si ipmisensors coretemp No sensors found!
Make sure you loaded all the kernel drivers you need.
Try sensors-detect to find out which these are.
[FAILED]

Best Regards,
Afnhe

Now follows a summary of the probes I have just done.
Just press ENTER to continue:

Driver `ipmisensors' (should be inserted):
Detects correctly:
* ISA bus, address 0xca0 (Busdriver `i2c-isa')
Chip `IPMI BMC KCS' (confidence: 4)

Driver `to-be-written' (should be inserted):
Detects correctly:
* ISA bus, address 0x820 (Busdriver `i2c-isa')
Chip `SMSC SCH4307 Super IO Fan Sensors' (confidence: 9)

Driver `coretemp' (should be inserted):
Detects correctly:
* Chip `Intel Core family thermal sensor' (confidence: 9)

Do you want to overwrite /etc/sysconfig/lm_sensors? (YES/no):
You should now start the lm_sensors service to load the required
kernel modules.

service lm_sensors start
Starting lm_sensors: loading module i2c-isa ipmi-si ipmisensors coretemp No sensors found!
Make sure you loaded all the kernel drivers you need.
Try sensors-detect to find out which these are.

Seen anything like this?

This program will help you determine which kernel modules you need
to load to use lm_sensors most effectively. It is generally safe
and recommended to accept the default answers to all questions,
unless you know what you're doing.

We can start with probing for (PCI) I2C or SMBus adapters.
Do you want to probe now? (YES/no):

You read the list and look for the missing modules and not just press OK.
