I am currently trying to install Mandrake 10.1, onto my computer with Windows Xp already on it. I get to a screen after I select my language it says the following:
Found"Intel Corp.|82801FR/FRW(ICH6R/ICH6RW) SATA Controller","parport_pc","imm","ppa" interfaces
Do you have another one?If I click NO, it says:
An error occurred
An error occurred - no valid devices were found on which to create new filesystems. Please check your hardware for the cause of this problem. If I click YES it comes up to a screen that asks:
Which disk/ide driver should I try?
This screen has probably over 60 different drivers.
My question is how do I proceed from here. Im not understanding the error that occurs or all of the possible drivers to choose from.
If anyone has had similar problems or has been through this feel free to let me know a way around this or a better solution.
Thank you for your time in reading this,

So ... u use SATA HDD instead of IDE HDD.
The first thing is you may need to know the SATA controller that is provided by your motherboard, then try to find the matching driver and use the matching driver.
Good luck!
