I'm trying to get the wake on lan feature working under linux system, and I have not had any sucess... I have no problems getting it to work on Windows machines, but not so with Linux 7.2 or 8.0 I know the bios and my nic card is configured for it, because this system has a removable drive and if I have the windows drive in it works, but not when the linux drive is in there. I tried using the command 'ethtool -s eth0 wol -g' to configure the settings in Linux but I get a message saying "operation not supported"....Any help would be greatly apperciated.

Only a few linux distributions fully support power management. It should be enabled in the BIOS, then use a distribution that can handle it. Not sure which one.
