Hello I wanted to install linux (Mandrake 9.2) on my laptop and everything went ok. the only problem is I want Open GL and my graphics card on my laptop is a Trident Cyber ALADDIN-P4 32MB and does not work for Open GL and I couldn't find any sites that had a linux driver for that specific model. Nor was it listed on the driver list when installing linux. I wanted to know if any of you know a site for a linux driver for that model. If not I was thinking of changing the graphics card and just get a new one I was thinking of a ATI Radeon 9600 but I just don't want to buy it and it doesn't work so do any of you know any good drivers that work on linux and support Open Gl on linux
Thanks

I don't know about the ATI but I know NVidia has many versions of their drivers out for Linux. I know there are some default drivers out there for ATI and Linux and OpenGL is fully supported in Linux.
Does your laptop video card work with OpenGL in Windows?
How were you going to put a Radeon in your laptop?

ATI provide linux drivers for Radeons 9800, 9700, 9600, 9500, 9200, 9100, 9000 and 8500 and a whole bunch of FileGL drivers direct from their website.

thank you for your replys. And for the link
to for the ATI linux drivers. I guess I will go
with the ATI 9800. I just found out that a
friend of mine had the same graphic card
The ATI 9800 on his laptop and he said it
works perfectly with linux and with Open
GL.Thank you very much
Doug
