Comment:
every time when i type in the command "startx" to start gonome from linux prompt line, i will get a message "unkown host" then followed by the message"Could not look up internet address for x1-6-00-04-5a-5e-03-b8. This will prevent Gonome operating correctly, it may be possible to correct the problem by adding x1-6-00-04-5a-5e-03-b8 to etc/hosts"
I tried both DHCP and assigned IP, but the error message always appears.
I cannot launch mysql on linux because of this issue. I will appreciate if any of you can help me out of this. Thanks

I to had this same problem but I figured out how to fix it. You don't have yo edit that stupid file. Here is what you do. Simply go to the start here on your desktop. Now click on system settings and then click on network configuration. Now move over to the hosts section. Click to edit this line. You should make it read 127.0.0.1 localhost.localdomain local host x1-6-00-04-5a-5e-03-b8 Now reboot your computer. It should work fine. :)
