Hi All,
Our Linux server currently closes a telnet session if the user hits carriage return before entering their user name. Is there a way to configure the server to return to the login prompt if the user enters a blank user name ? Any help is appreciated.

hit enter without a username....?!?=o)

Great idea, but unfortunately we use a piece of software that adds a carriage return before each login attempt. It was originally written for AIX systems, which sometimes required the 'CR' in order to get the login to appear.

Just an idea, but have you though of using
ssh instead of telnet?...it may be more
forgiving and certainly more secure.
