Linux Telnet Settings

Hi All, Our Linux server currently closes a telnet session if the user hits carriage return before entering their user name. Is there a way to configure the server to return to the login prompt if the user enters a blank user name ? Any help is appreciated.

Great idea, but unfortunately we use a piece of software that adds a carriage return before each login attempt. It was originally written for AIX systems, which sometimes required the 'CR' in order to get the login to appear.
