First of all, you should NEVER use telnet if you can avoid it. Telnet is a welcome flag to hackers, and offers unenecrypted passwords to be sent over the network.

Secondly, I need to know how you want to connect the systems together. Are you trying to share files, remote administer them, set up an X server and an X client? More information would be greatly appreciated.
