Linux SUSE wont boot

OS: SUSE 6.0
CPU/Ram: 550 MHz

Hallo everybody

I'm a new linux user and have a problem withe booting the server.

when I boot the server I'm getting the erroe massage:
INIT can not excute "/sbin/init.d/boot"

and then the error:
INIT can not exute "/sbin/init.d/rc"

INIT: id "1" respawninr too fast: disable for 5 minute

there is no:
/sbin/init.d

in SuSE, SuSE uses:
/etc/init.d

Hallo and thnks for replay

there is an /sbin/init.d in SuSE and I'm getting the up written errors by booting the server.

cd to /sbin/init.d and type

ls -l boot rc

you should get the following result (approx)

-rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 3877 Jan 20 2003 boot
-rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 7937 Mar 18 2003 rc

if the rights are wrong type

chmod 755 boot rc
