Hi, I have a Speedtouch 510 ADSL router which has an ethernet port. I currently share this connection with 5 others in the building.
I want someway to divide the connection speed on the number of users connected at that time. For example if 5 are connected then each would be limitted to 1/5 of the bandwidth and if 4 limitted to 1/4. and so on.
I hear this can be done through a linux router. I have this spare computer (200 MHz / 64 MB Ram / 2 NICs) and an 8 port switch. Please guide me about the steps to do this using the equipment I have or any extra equipment needed.
