Hi,

Can anyone tell me how to repair Linux.

I installed Taroon Rhel and windows 98 and then tried to install XP. But i lost Taroon rhel from the startup. Can anyone tell me how to repair it and get it back on startup.

And where can i get version of VMware which is for linux.(can be installed from linux)

Thanks.

I don't know what Taroon RHEL is (some offshoot of Red Hat Enterprise Linux?), but you probably need to boot an emergency boot diskette (or CD) to get to your Linux filesystem. Then, you need to modify your lilo or grub configuration (whichever was your boot manager) to include your new XP installation, and then run the lilo or grub program to make these changes. You can then reboot and should have XP and Linux as options in your boot menu.

By the way, Windows doesn't care about Linux, so it's not wise to install XP over a Linux configuration and expect to have linux available again, out of the box. Linux, however, does care and when it installs, will give you the option of other operating systems as part of the boot menu, as has been your experience, no?

To get vmware:

vmware workstation download

Good luck.
