Because of my interest, a friend of mine gave me two cd's of Linux Redhat 7.2 which he expected as is but I am not sure after all. When I checked them I saw :
1.st cd 1 file named enigma-i386-disk1.iso with a capacity of 662.072 Kb
2.nd cd 1 file named enigma-i386-disk2.iso with a capacity of 653.740 Kb
when I tried to run them under windows it prompts "is not a valid Win32 application"
and tried under dos 6.22 and prompt"program too big to fit into memory" even I tried to load it wiht LOADFIX command. I'm sure somebody knows what to do and please let me know.
Thanks in advance

Before you can install RedHat Linux 7.2 on
your computer, you need to "burn" those
two files onto CD's first. You can use any
burning software that you have but I
normally use Easy CD Creator since it comes
with the burner. Then, you can either
boot up with the first CD or create a
bootable disk which is also on the first
CD... And if everything's going fine, you
will have a RedHat Linux running in about
half an hour, depending on the speed of you
computer...

Dear Lawrence
Thank you very much for your interest and quick reply.
The thing I did not understand is both files are already on cd's.
What do you mean by burning? I am also using Easy Cd Creator Platinum for copying media to cd s. Is it something else what you are talking about? I changed the boot sequence of my computer to " CD-ROM,A,C" I've inserted CD1 to drive and reboot. It checked but nothing happened just failure.
So I think I need more details from you about this booting prosedure if you dont mind.
Thank you once agein

i think your friend did not know how to burn those files.
to do so with easycdcreator;
copy those files to your hard drive
>normaly they wil get a "easycdcreator" icon
>doubleklick and easycdcreator-prog will open, then burn them
>thats it for the cd's

>then boot with the first and lead your way in to linux

as i can tell by reading this it looks like your friend burned them into iso format. he should have used either the ez creator or nero. Nero is my fav though. you need to tell it to burn iso image file and then partion the drive and install it. leave the first cd in the drive and reset the pc. follow the prompts and it is easier to install any Linux distro with a ps/2 keyboard

You have a Linux iso, a cd rom image of Red Hat disk. If you want a bootablecd with accesible file and directories you need to burn it as a disk image. Some software do it automatically other need to select "Create CD from disk image" or something like that. Check www.linuxiso.org for more info.
