Comment:
I installed redhat linux 7.0. It asked me for a password in the installation process and I gave my name (chamal) as the password. when i try to boot linux after the installation , it asked me for the login name and password. I gave 'chamal' as the login name and i tried to give 'chamal' as the password. But it says the password is invalid.the other thing is when i was typing the password the lettrers were invisible.

you probably have specified chamal as your root password...
root would be the username and chamal your password. However:
root should only be used as the admin account for your machine, for every day usage you should use a normal account, so create a new user for this purpose.
Also, as the root password you should choose a safer password than one that you have now, especially if you have access to the internet. Anyone will be able to access your computer as root, and do anything they wish, if they guess your password.
