Linux panic error, init=

I've got Win XP installed on the first primary partition of my HD. I've installed Fedora Core 1 onto another partition along with a seperate swap partition for it. I've also been trying to install a copy of Dos onto a fourth partition (located between the Win partition and Linux partitions) Win and Linux were working fine, until I messed around with the partitions trying to get Dos to load. Now Linux is getting a panic error and hanging up. It says something about the ext3 file system and "init =". I tried reinstalling and reformatting both Linux partitions, but I still get the same problem. Any ideas, reason why?
