HI,
I have got a IBM thinkpad with PIII 700/128M RAM/12GB HDD... I want to install linux without partioning my hard disk.. I understand that there is Mandrake's Lnx4win which can achieve this task. Can anybody tell me the required hard disk space for this. Also how difficult is the installation and how stable is the system after installing?
Thanks
bispuj

The only way to install linux is making a partition for the NFS file system that uses Linux.
If you want to try linux without make a partition you can use Corel Linux that can make an "emulation" of the NFS in a very large file.
If you want to desintall Linux only you have to delete this file and ALL the Linux are removed from your system.
Corel Linux are very easy to configure X server (the graphic environment of Linux)
Also you can use WinLinux2000 (www.winlinux.com) that make a "NFS" in the Windows FAT.
This installation make a directory with permisions in the extensions of the files, but you looses the security of Linux when you are in Windows.
Winlinux has the power to configure automatically all the settings of Linux in Windows
If you want to try the power of Linux you have this two options in Windows, but the better way to feel all the power is partitioning your disk, because you can also have the power of the NFS file system.
This options are not good options because uses the FAT file system.
I tried this and both are very slowly.

Sorry! I don't read that you are a Win2K user!
I try it in FAT. I don't know if this options can be used in Win2K.
I guest that you cannot use it in NTFS systems because they use LOADLIN, a program to load Linux form DOS.
