Check out Phat Linux. It will install into a folder (default c:\phat) and there's no need for partitioning etc.
You don't gt all the benefits of a "true" linux install, but it's nice a simple and should give you a taste.

Winlinux and DragonLinux also are designed to install into Windows partitions. Mandrake 9.0 still has a "use drive for loopback" option under drive partitioning- does anyone know if that allows installing without partitioning?

Linux mandrake 8.0 will install to a windows partiton. When installing hit F1 to go to the options screen and I believe the command is lnx4win. Check the help file for spelling mistakes. Also I believe future versions of mandrake will support this.
