Hi,
I am very much a Linux newbie and am having some problems (shock! horror!!) I am trying to install Mandrake 6.0 (is it any good? I know 7 is available...?), I seem to have the partitioning side of things under control ( I have 23 Mb /boot, 70 Mb Swap, 2048 root). Everything installs fine, although the problems arrive when it comes to installing and configuring the graphics card drivers. It doesn't matter what I set it up as (Generic, Unlisted etc) it won't work at all! It comes up with problems after probing, so I tried removing the xwindows component so I could at least get to root login, but it won't let me! Whenever I get the login prompt on screen the keyboard refuses any input! Are the two problems related? It seems to me that I need to update my xfree86 drivers to ones that support my graphics card (apparently the later ones do) Obviously with no keyboard input at all that is somewhat difficult! Can someone please help as would really like to get Linux and stop lining Micro$oft'$ pockets!
Many thanks,
Baz
